Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has a trick up his sleeve if his injury crisis does not abate itself by January.
A lot has been made of what Eddie Howe will do in the transfer market in January.
With Sandro Tonali missing for the rest of the season it's very likely Howe will look to bring someone in to fill that void, but the question remains whether that will be a temporary or a permanent acquisition.
On top of that lengthy suspension, Howe is currently without eight first-team players through long-term injury with only a couple expected to return any time soon with Alexander Isak back in training and Howe confirmed today that Harvey Barnes is running again,
If things don't improve for the gaffer, he can recall 19-year-old Yankba Minteh from his loan spell at Feyenoord, says Craig Hope.
We say 'recall', it would be more like 'call' as the Gambian forward hasn't even visited Newcastle yet. After the deal was struck with OB Odense, all his paperwork and press stuff was handled in Holland along with the loan deal to Feyenoord.
Minteh has had a bright start with the Dutch champions, and despite criticism that he sometimes fails to find the right ball in the final third, opting for personal glory first, Feyenoord boss Arne Slot has been very impressed with the youngster.
Newcastle then, could look to bring him to Tyneside to round out the squad, but it's more likely they will leave him where he is to develop his game more.
It's still good to know we have the option.
