Eddie Howe awarded with high honour by Newcastle United at annual awards event
The Newcastle United Foundation held its annual Celebration Dinner event in the City on Tuesday, with Eddie Howe bestowed with another huge honour by the club.
While the dinner is mainly to celebrate the achievements of people in the community, who are then given the chance to meet some of their Newcastle United heroes, there is a portion of the night dedicated to inducting honorees into the Newcastle United Hall of Fame.
An announcement on the event on Newcastle United's official website confirmed that, as part of the evening, Eddie Howe was inducted into the Newcastle United Hall of Fame.
The late Glenn Roeder was also inducted, along with John Anderson.

Eddie Howe being inducted while still in his position shows just how great his achievements over his four years at the club have been.
Howe saved the club from certain relegation after taking over in November 2021 and then got Newcastle back into the Champions League the very next season.
The following season was a steep learning curve for the club as they struggled to cope with the extra burden of the Champions League, but last season, not only did the Magpies qualify for the competition again, but they also lifted their first domestic trophy in 70 years when they hoisted the Carabao Cup at Wembley in March.

That cup win would likely have been enough to get Howe inducted into the Hall of Fame, but he's done so much more besides that, and we hope that Carabao Cup win was just the beginning of an era of silverware for this great club.
Meanwhile, Glenn Roeder represented Newcastle as a player and a manager, playing for the club from 1983 to 1989 and then managing from 2006-2007. Unfortunately, Roeder passed away in 2021 at the age of 65, after an 18-year battle with a brain tumour.
John Anderson was a teammate of Roeder's, playing for the Magpies from 1982-1992 and can now be heard bellowing into the microphone during Newcastle games for BBC Radio Newcastle alongside Matthew Raisbeck.
