Most of Newcastle United's players are now on their summer break, except for the ones involved in the U21 European Championships.

In around three weeks, the lads will reconvene as they get their pre-season preparations underway with Newcastle expected to be very busy and trotting around the globe (or the flat plane under a dome if you're an imbecile).

The Magpies are keeping it fairly local for their first pre-season friendly, which will be against Celtic at Celtic Park before they jet off to Singapore.

A couple of games in Singapore will be followed by a trip to South Korea to take part in the Coupang Play Series, the dates and times of which have now been confirmed. Then Newcastle will end pre-season at St James' Park taking part in the third Sela Cup against Atletico Madrid.

The Premier League fixtures will be announced on 18th June

The Premier League will get underway again on 16th August, the week after the Sela Cup at St James' Park.

We still have to wait until next week on 18th June for the Premier League fixtures to come out, and then of course we'll have to see which of the opening fixtures are moved for TV.

I'm sure that the first thing we'll all be looking for on 18th is the date of the two Tyne-Wear derbies after such a long time without one on the Premier League schedule.
