Alexander Isak left Newcastle United under a cloud of bad faith and ill will after forcing through a move to Liverpool in highly controversial circumstances in the summer.

The Swedish international downed tools at Newcastle, refused to go on the pre-season tours, scarpered to Spain to train without permission and was just generally an absolute weapon all summer.

It took until transfer deadline day, but he finally got his wish, sealing a British record £125 million move to Liverpool while Newcastle brought in Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa (who also partook in some dodgy shenanigans to force through his move).

All that downtime in the summer meant that Isak was not ready to play for Liverpool for weeks, and when he did come back, he was less than useless. Even now, he only has three goals for the club, but it was scoring that third one on Saturday that has sparked this latest article.

Simon Jordan sums up our feelings on the matter perfectly

As he bundled the ball home against Tottenham on Saturday, he picked up a fresh injury. Iniitally it was suspected it was an ACL injury, but now The Athletic claims it's a broken leg. Either way, his season is likely over.

Newcastle fans are revelling in the news. As much as there's a huge call to forget him and move on, there's still a lot of resentment there, and even TalkSPORT's Simon Jordan is trying to calm himself down after hearing the news, saying that it's karma for his behaviour in the summer.

“I’m desperately trying to avoid myself disappearing into the ghost of Jacob Marley, and looking at the karma of Alexander Isak’s position in terms of not landing at Liverpool and achieving very much.

“I don’t want anyone breaking their legs, but I also look at the dynamics of how people behave and think, sometimes, that what goes around comes around. That’s mean-spirited, I know. So then you move onto the situation surrounding Liverpool.

“They're not exactly devoid of a decent squad. The Isak transaction is always what they were prepared to spend. It’s not £125million down the drain because it will come again. It’s just an unfortunate set of circumstances where they have Mohamed Salah thinking he can say whatever he wants, you’ve got Cody Gakpo who hasn’t been in the best form and (Hugo) Ekitikke who probably thought he should be the man anyways.”

Yoane Wissa's karma was instant

We said that Yoane Wissa's knee injury was likely karma for what he did, and it seemed odd to us that Isak was getting away with minor injuries and a lack of form.

Well, I guess serious karma just takes a bit longer to catch up, eh?

In all seriousness, as Simon Jordan said, we don't want players breaking their legs, and as much as it is satisfying on some level to see karma catching up with him, we genuinely hope things aren't that bad, and he makes a full recovery.
