Alexander Isak closed the gap on Erling Haaland in the Premier League Golden Boot race on Sunday with a brace against West Ham.
Still two goals behind the Nordic Meat Shield, Isak leapt to the top of the table in terms of minutes per goal making him the current most prolific striker in the English top flight.
It was no real surprise then that after bagging two goals and missing out on a hattrick by the width of the post, that Garth Crooks chose Isak to lead the line in his team of the week on the BBC.
Alexander Isak delivered the goods, while his second goal was produced with the most glorious cross from Kieran Trippier.
It also gave the visitors a glimmer of hope of taking all three points, but that's all it was as West Ham struck back to equalise. This was an excellent match played in the right spirit by two emerging teams.
Isak is having a fantastic start to the season with Newcastle picking up praise from all corners of the football world with the likes of Pat Nevin hailing Isak as 'incredible' in a recent Off The Ball podcast.
The £63million signing was the only Newcastle United representative in Garth Crook's team of the week after the Magpies dominated the last couple, especially following the 8-0 demolition of Sheffield United.
It's impossible to look beyond the Man City Cyborg for this season's golden boot as he is a bonafide freak of nature, but that runner's up spot will go to Alexander Isak.
I said it at the end of last season and I'm sticking to it.
