David Coote given the boot for partaking in the toot - PGMOL axe referee after investigation

The referee who was the man in the middle at Wembley as Newcastle United took on Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final last year has now been sacked by the PGMOL.

David Coote found himself in hot water recently when a video went viral showing the Premier League official talking about Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp in a very derogatory manner.

I mean, we've done plenty of that ourselves, but we're not meant to be an impartial official.

However, if that wasn't bad enough for Coote, further leaks online suggested that he had been partaking in a spot of Colombian marching powder and had even been messaging friends during half-time at matches to set up coke-fuelled nights out.

David Coote was immediately placed on suspension while the PGMOL conducted their investigation which came to a head today as they released the following statement:

"David Coote's actions were found to be in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract.

"Supporting David Coote continues to be important to us and we remain committed to his welfare."

Some Newcastle fans tried to smear Coote leading up to the Carabao Cup final by doctoring images to suggest that Coote was a Manchester United fan, but that all proved to just be fans on the wind-up.

However, had we known about all this we could have had him do all the hard work for us, although in fairness, he didn't have a bad game at Wembley.

He was probably VERY focused. That was a joke, don't sue us, Dave!
