It's too soon to say for sure 'we're back' but Newcastle United are on a three-game winning streak and are playing some good football at the same time.

The Magpies' next game comes on Monday night as they take on West Ham United at St James' Park live on Sky Sports: kick-off is at 8pm.

Should Newcastle overcome the struggling London club that will be four wins in a row and a really good indication that things are back on track for Newcastle after a less-than-convincing start to the season.

However, Dan Burn believes that the recent international break couldn't have come at a worse time for Newcastle.

Dan Burn feels that the international break could be detrimental to Newcastle

Speaking to Sky Sports at the Newcastle United Foundation dinner, looking like James Bond if he was filmed in widescreen and then squashed to fit on a 4:3 aspect ratio, Dan Burn said that the international break may have slowed the team's momentum.

“It’s felt a lot more like us.

“The international break has probably killed the momentum a little bit.

“We’re happy. I keep going back to that season we got into the Champions League. We went out there and had no fear and just wanted to dominate against teams. I feel like that’s the mentality we’re starting to get towards again.”

Julen Lopetegui will be desperate for a result at Newcastle

It's hardly confidence-inspiring to hear one of your most influential players say out loud that their momentum has been killed, but hopefully, it will prove not to be the case.

West Ham aren't exactly firing on all cylinders right now, with rumours saying that Julen Lopetegui has two games to save his job, one of which is Newcastle on Monday.

Can he rally his troops to put in a good performance or can Newcastle hammer another nail into his coffin?
