Newcastle United suffered a 1-2 defeat to Barcelona on Thursday night in the Champions League at St James' Park.

The Magpies did the north east proud on the night, giving it their all, but Barcelona's quality and experience were just too much for the Toon Army.

Newcastle gave it a good go, and many believe that had Eddie Howe put out a slightly different lineup, things could have been much different.

There's always a belief that Newcastle can beat anybody, but there are some teams that when you fall to a defeat, you don't feel so bad about it, and it's hard to feel too deflated after a narrow defeat to a team like Barcelona.

Dan Burn: The man is like a fine wine

Dan Burn believes Newcastle have plenty of winnable games in the Champions League to come

Indeed, Big Dan Burn certainly doesn't seem to be gloomy after the loss, as he spoke to The Chronicle to remind everyone that there are plenty of games left, most of which are very winnable.

"Yeah, definitely. Look at all of the games, without being disrespectful, the rest of the teams that we're playing, Barcelona and PSG are the two games that are going to be the toughest ones.

"There are games that are winnable in there if we turn up and play like we're supposed to."

Who's to say Newcastle can't beat PSG?

As Newcastle fans know all too well, PSG aren't unstoppable. The Magpies battered the French side 4-1 in the Champions League two seasons ago at St James' Park, and almost got a result at the Parc des Princes too, but for a dodgy penalty awarded late in the game.

The rest of our opponents will not be pushovers by any means, but we'd definitely fancy ourselves against them, especially if we play with the same passion as we did last night.

Newcastle's Champions League dream is far from dead after one game.
