I suppose if you're going to dish it out you've got to be able to take it and after Newcastle United placed Dan Ashworth on gardening leave for months when he accepted a move to Manchester United, the former Brighton man has now managed to exact a tiny bit of revenge.
You can call it petty and roll your eyes, but if we'd done to Manchester United what Dan Ashworth has now done to us, we'd all be laughing our backs off, so we have to accept it I suppose.
Newcastle recently offered a job to Luke Dickinson as Senior Analyst as the club continues to build the best possible team behind the scenes.
Luke Dickinson currently has a job as the Lead Academy Analyst... at Manchester United ... working for former Newcastle sporting director Dan Ashworth.
Dan Ashworth was placed on gardening leave for around five months when he put in his notice at Newcastle while they negotiated with Man United over a settlement fee.
Now, given the tiniest bit of power to exact his revenge, Ashworth has grabbed with with both tiny hands and is making Dickinson wait on gardening leave before taking up his new role at Newcastle.
Dickinson will join Newcastle in November working under Paul Mitchell as the new sporting director implements his way of thinking at the club.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Dickinson is a boyhood Newcastle fan having been born in Alnwick.
Given Sir Jim Ratcliffe cutting jobs at Manchester United like he's auditioning for a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, it was probably a wise move for Dickinson to get out while he can.
We hope Dan Ashworth has now found peace after this petty act of revenge.
