Chris Sutton now predicts who will win in FA Cup fourth round tie between Aston Villa and Newcastle United
Aston Villa host Newcastle United in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday with a 5:45pm kick-off live on BBC 1 and TNT Sports.
This game is going to be such a huge test for Eddie Howe and his team, especially with the likelihood that the Magpies are going to be without their good luck charm, Bruno Guimaraes.
The win over Spurs will have been a huge confidence boost, but we can't hide away from the fact that Tottenham were absolutely woeful on the night, and Aston Villa will put up far more resistance.
A lot will depend on how strong a side the managers put out. We imagine both will want to progress, so we expect strong lineups, but would either really be too disappointed if their fixture list gets a reprieve?
Chris Sutton went with his old side for this one
It's a tough one to call, and Chris Sutton had to go with his gut for his prediction for the BBC.
"I was delighted for Newcastle boss Eddie Howe that his team beat Tottenham and also the reception he got from his side's fans afterwards.
"For everything he has done for them, the world must have gone bonkers for their fans to be calling up 606 and saying they wanted him out.
"This will be a very different test to playing Spurs, however, and I am going with my gut feeling on this one.
"The two sides met recently when Villa won at St James' Park at the end of January and although Villa have slipped up a couple of times at home recently, when it clicks for them, they usually end up winning.
"Sutton's prediction: 2-1"
We're on the copium already with more than 24 hours until kick-off
We're looking at this game as a free hit. If we win, then that's obviously fantastic; we get to progress in another competition, but if we get knocked out, that gives us a few weekends of peace and gives Eddie Howe a chance to actually get his players on the training pitch to work on some new ideas.
This is how we're justifying the acceptance on Saturday if we get beaten. Although if we don't even put up a fight and get battered, I reserve the right to be mardy in my post-match write-up.
We asked you if you'd be disappointed if we were knocked out on Saturday, and 57% of you said we should be going out there to win, so let's do this for the 57%!
