Newcastle United are back in action on Wednesday night after a 10-day break, taking on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Kick-off is 8pm.

Palace come into this game off the back of an impressive 5-2 demolition of West Ham which was preceded by a 1-0 win over Liverpool, so confidence will be sky high for Oliver Glasner's men.

However, their win against West Ham was on Sunday so there could be a few tired legs, especially compared to Newcastle's rested side.

Newcastle are also on an excellent run of form, unbeaten in four games, and they go into this match with a superb recent record against Palace who haven't scored past the Magpies in the past five meetings.

Sutton thinks Crystal Palace will 'edge it'

It's a tricky game to call, but thankfully that's not our job. That responsibility once again falls to Chris Sutton who has made his prediction for his column on the BBC Sport website.

"Crystal Palace will be buzzing off the back of their big win over West Ham on Sunday.

"Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise sparkled again alongside Jean-Philippe Mateta up front and having those two back fit has been huge for new Eagles boss Oliver Glasner in terms of increasing his side's attacking threat.

"Newcastle have found a bit of form recently too, but I fancy Palace to edge it. They look completely safe from relegation now so they can play with a bit of freedom, but Eze and Olise will make the difference.

"Sutton's prediction: 2-1"

Palace have a couple of dangerous players but so do we

It seems that Sutton is going with momentum on this one expecting Palace to continue their form from Sunday's game into Wedneday's clash.

Eze and Olise are definitely two players Newcastle need to be wary of, but at the same time we've got a few stars of our own who are at the peak of their powers with Harvey Barnes, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon leading the line with Bruno Guimaraes and Elliot Anderson behind them.

We won't go as far as to predict a score, but we are feeling quite confident going into this one, but we're also acutely aware of our confidence coming back to bite us a couple of times this season.
