Newcastle United are set to face Chelsea twice in a week at the end of October and the FA could be about to slap one of their players with a three game ban.

When the Premier League returns after this latest international break, Newcastle will take on Brighton and Hove Albion at St James' Park before travelling to Stamford Bridge the following Sunday for a Premier League meeting with Chelsea.

Then, just three days later, Chelsea will head to St James' Park for the Carabao Cup clash on 30th October. Before that double-header, Chelsea will Liverpool in the Premier League.

However, as things stand, The FA are currently reviewing an incident which happened on Sunday in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest which could see Nicholas Jackson hit with a three-game ban.

Nicolas Jackson could miss both Newcastle matches

As reported by The Shields Gazette, Jackson was seen hitting out at Morato after a brawl broke out in the dying stages of the match.

Jackson had already been substituted by this point and his actions were somehow missed by the referee and VAR.

Now, though, it looks as though the 23-year-old striker is set to be hit with a retroactive ban which would see him ruled out of three domestic games with immediate effect, which means he would miss the match with Liverpool and the Newcastle double-header.

Chelsea still have plenty of goal threat

Jackson didn't have the best of seasons for Chelsea last year, but in this campaign he's started to find the net a lot more often, so him being unavailable to face Newcastle could be a welcome boost for the Magpies.

Chelsea still have plenty of players capable of finding the net, with Newcastle target Noni Madueke scoring for fun lately.

They also have a million players per position so they may not even notice he's gone if we're being honest. It could still be a psychological lift for Newcastle, though, so we'll take it.
