Newcastle United had been reported to be interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto for the past two summers but the Portuguese international has now signed for Chelsea.

Pedro Neto becomes Chelsea's ninth signing of the week summer as the Blues squad continues to mutate like a wet Gremlin.

There is a chance, though, that this arrival could force Chelsea into letting a player leave and with Newcastle currently knocking at the door for Noni Madueke, we could start to see some movement.

TeamTalk believes that it would take £40 million to take Madueke away from Chelsea just a year and a half after his arrival.

There have also been rumours that Newcastle could look to offer Chelsea a loan-to-buy deal for Madueke similar to the one which took Lewis Hall from Stamford Bridge to St James' Park.

Noni Madueke has looked pretty sharp in pre-season, like he has taken a step up since the last campaign, and if Newcastle were to land the 22-year-old we're sure Eddie Howe could get the best out of him.

His Premier League record isn't exactly outstanding with six goals and two assists from 35 outings, but his from did massively pick up towards the end of last season.

Time is of the essence

If we could get Madueke on loan with an option or even and obligation to buy then we'd be getting a fantastic player for very cheap.

Although, in fairness, £40 million for an English winger with Premier League experience isn't exactly a bad deal either in today's game.

Whatever the deal is, we need to get a move on. Quickly quickly.
