The Newcastle United Supporters Trust (NUST) has expressed its strong opposition to Manchester United's Carabao Cup Round Four ticket pricing.

The Trust's critique came to light through a forceful statement released on X this afternoon, which branded the Red Devils' prices for the forthcoming clash with Newcastle United as "scandalous":

The Trust isn't just concerned about the prices

For the fourth round match on 1st November at Old Trafford, Magpies fans are being asked to pay £39 per ticket. This is £9 more than a typical Premier League match at the same venue would cost.

Sky's decision to make the game an 8.15 p.m. kick-off has only added to the frustration. Such a late time makes it difficult for fans to travel back from Manchester after the match, with NUST terming the decision as "ridiculous".

The Trust's brief statement on X read:

"£39 for @ManUtd away in the @Carabao_Cup is scandalous and makes a mockery of the £30 @premierleague away ticket price cap. Add in a ridiculous kick off time - match going fans taken for granted time and time again. #nufc"

The Magpies have nothing to fear in Stretford

Newcastle earned their place at Old Trafford with a win over Manchester City in the third round last week thanks to a goal from Alexander Isak.

Meanwhile, Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 in their equivalent fixture but then lost 1-0 to the same opposition in the Premier League on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag's hapless side was then beaten at home to Galatasaray in the Champions League last night, meaning they have collected zero points from their opening two games in Europe's premier club competition. What a pity.
