Burnley star who has missed just one game for clarets this season hit with four-game ban on eve of Newcastle United match
Newcastle United have received a bit of a boost ahead of tomorrow's game against Burnley at St James' Park.
As much as Newcastle could be forgiven for thinking that a win over Burnley would be a formality on Saturday, their form this season would suggest otherwise.
Newcastle like to make things way harder than they need to be, so when the upcoming opposition loses a player through injury or suspension, we'll take that little bonus.
Ahead of Burnley's visit to St James' Park, they've just found out that they are going to be without one of their key players.
Burnley star Hannibal Mejbri has been handed a four-match suspension for spitting at a Leeds United fan in October
As reported by the BBC, Burnley attacking midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has been hit with a four-game ban after spitting at a fan in the clash against Leeds United in October.
In addition to the four-match ban, he's also been handed a £15,000 fine.
While Hannibal will miss the game at St James' Park tomorrow, along with clashes against Fulham, Bournemouth and Everton, his return will see him available again when Newcastle travel to Turf Moor at the end of the month.
Hannibal has only missed out on one Premier League game for Burnley so far
So far this season, Hannibal has featured in every Premier League game for Burnley except one, sitting on the bench as Burnley were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa.
He has only started four of the 13 games he's featured in, though, and that suggests that Scott Parker may not miss him as much as perhaps we're hoping.
Still, it's a big negative cloud over the club the day before a Premier League game, so we'll take it as a cheeky little bonus.
