Brazil took on the USA in an international friendly in the early hours of this morning in their final warm-up game before the Copa America gets underway.

USA are the competition's hosts while Brazil are the favourites to lift the trophy but the two sides played out a 1-1 draw with Rodrygo's opener being cancelled out by Christian Pulisic.

Bruno Guimaraes played 65 minutes of the encounter before being hooked with two separate outlets giving the Newcastle United midfielder less than impressive scores.

In truth, none of the Brazilian side faired very well when it came to their ratings, but we expect more from Bruno. Perhaps he was distracted by the rumour that some ITK melts online have started putting around that Manchester City have activated his £100m release clause.

Bruno didn't fare well in Goal's player ratings after USA friendly

Goal handed Guimaraes a 5/10 claiming that he was not his usual self, his midfield partners didn't fair much better with Lucas Paqueta also receiving a five and only gave Wolves' Joao Gomez a lower score giving him a 4/10.

“Not always his usual solid self at the base of midfield. Subbed after an hour.”

It certainly sounds like one to forget for Newcastle's number 39.

Guimaraes issued a rallying cry after the lacklustre draw

Bruno did slightly better in Globo Esporte's ratings with some positive words alongside his 6/10 rating.

“He played an important role in scoring high with good interceptions, like the one that started Brazil’s first goal. He also made good passes, leaving Rodrygo in a position to score one-on-one with Turner. Defensively, however, it could help to close more spaces in front of the area, especially in the first half.”

Bruno himself posted on social media that Brazil need to learn their lessons and move on into the tournament.

"Adjust the details as needed and follow. See you at the Copa América! Come on, Brazil"
