It's been over a year now since Amanda Staveley, along with her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi, left their roles on the board and as co-owners of Newcastle United.

Amanda Staveley had been the face of the PIF-backed takeover after getting all the parties together to launch the bid to buy Newcastle United.

Last summer, seemingly out of nowhere, the club announced that Staveley and Ghodoussi had left the club in a summer of big shakeups at the club, which also saw Paul Mitchell arrive as sporting director.

Eddie Howe successfully navigated things brilliantly on the pitch, and the team lifted a trophy and returned to the Champions League, but behind the scenes felt like a mess, only made worse when Darren Eales, who has been reported as orchestrating Staveley's exit, received a blood cancer diagnosis and began the process to step down as CEO.

Bruno Guimaraes wants Amanda Staveley back at NUFC

With a lack of leadership in the boardroom over the summer, Newcastle's efforts in the transfer window felt disjointed and subpar, causing many fans to wonder if things had been like this if Staveley had been able to stick around.

Well, now it seems that it's not just the fans who have been wondering this after Bruno Guimaraes commented on Amanda Staveley's latest Instagram post, where he wished the NUFC women luck for their game on Sunday.

We'd welcome Wor Mandy back with open arms

There is a school of thought that suggests that had Amanda Staveley still been at the club, the whole mess with Alexander Isak would have been avoided, given that it was Paul Mitchell refusing to offer him a new deal, which kicked everything off.

We're all still waiting to see what Staveley does next, with rumours persisting about her looking for a way back into football.

We agree with Bruno, though, we'd love to see her back at Newcastle United, where she belongs.
