Bruno Guimaraes returns as Anthony Gordon drops out: Our predicted Newcastle United XI to take on Brentford
Newcastle United have a home tie this weekend as Brentford come to St James' Park on Saturday for a 5:30pm kick-off live on Sky Sports.
Brentford picked up a big win over Aston Villa last week, while Newcastle were hammered by Liverpool and then again by Man City in midweek.
This is Newcastle's last home game for a while, and they will want to make it count to lift the mood on Tyneside.
Unfortunately for Eddie Howe, his squad is the walking dead right now, and options are limited, but we've managed to put together a team that should give Brentford a run.
Goalkeeper
Nick Pope - Pope will come back in now that cup duty is over.
Defenders
Kieran Trippier - We hope that Lewis Miley has recovered from his dead leg and can fit in here, but we think knackered Trippier will get another run out.
Malick Thiaw - The games just keep coming for the German, and his form will continue to suffer until he can have a breather.
Sven Botman - This is our pick. Let's be honest, though, Eddie Howe is going to go with Dan Burn, isn't he?
Lewis Hall - Keep shining bright, you magnificent star. At least we've got one good player.
Midfielders
Bruno Guimaraes (c) - He's missed three. We can't afford for him to miss this one. We need our saviour.
Sandro Tonali - His body will be on the pitch, but where his head will be after this week, who the hell knows?
Jacob Ramsey - Coin toss between Ramsey and Joe Willock. Although, a slight chance of Lewis Miley too.
Forwards
Anthony Elanga - A reward for scoring in midweek is a start against Brentford on Saturday. Probably wouldn't have happened had Anthony Gordon been fit.
Yoane Wissa - I mean, he has to start against Brentford, right?
Harvey Barnes - Anthony Gordon is likely to sit this one out to sell his injury, so step up Mr Barnes.
