Bruno Guimaraes has said many times that his goal when signing for Newcastle United was to write himself into the history books at the club and he feels that he's done that after captaining the side to Carabao Cup glory.

Thankfully, though, since doing that, the Brazilian has also spoken about wanting more. It's not a case of 'job done' for the 27-year-old, and now he can leave the club. He wants to bring more silverware to the club.

Bruno has absolutely fallen in love with Newcastle. Not just the club, but the city and the people in it, too. He says his kids are Geordies and seems genuinely proud that his eldest, Matteo, will be starting school in the region next year.

Now, Sky Sports have taken a trip down memory lane with the skipper via his social media posts where he talks about his family, his career and his vision for the future.

Bruno Guimaraes picks Carabao Cup win over Olympic Gold medal win

There are plenty of nice moments for Bruno to reflect on, like his dad becoming a local celebrity and putting the fear of God into fans, suggesting that Bruno was going to leave Newcastle.

Bruno reflected on winning Olympic gold with Brazil, something he counts as one of the best days in his career so far, but when he was ultimately told to choose his favourite moment - or moments as he was allowed to choose two, one family and one football, Bruno ultimately went with winning the cup with NEwcastle as his top pick.

"Normally, I would take this one (Olympic Gold medal win), but I think, being here, the most important was this one. Winning a trophy for this club was always my dream.

"Since when I signed for the club, I said I would like to put my name in the club history, and ai think I've done this, we have done this. All of this is special for me, but you've just given me two choices so there we are."

Bruno Guimaraes says Newcastle can win the Premier League

Bruno always comes across as a really honest and humble guy, despite his massive competitive side, he always manages to think of others. The fact that he corrected himself when saying "we have done this", acknowledging that it wasn't just him who brought the cup to St James' Park.

Watching that video makes us so glad that things worked out the way they did. We almost lost Bruno Guimaraes to swimming or driving taxis.

Bruno also says that he fully believes that Newcastle United will win the Premier League and, well, we believe him.
