It usually takes Bruno Guimaraes a couple of hours to pop up on social media with his thoughts on the most recent game, usually longer after an away match, but he wasted no time last night in speaking his mind after the Newcastle United victory against West Ham United.
Bruno tapped home from close range just past the hour mark in the lifeless game between Newcastle and West Ham in the equally lifeless London Stadium last night.
Neither side really seemed to put the full effort in. It was understandable from Newcastle's perspective with so many players hoping to be part of the big one on Sunday as Newcastle compete for the Carabao Cup at Wembley, but we're not sure why the Hammers were so passive.
The three points, though, were massive for Newcastle who had slid down the Premier League table over the weekend as a lot of results went against them, but now the Magpies are back up to sixth, level on points with fifth-placed Manchester City and things look a lot healthier.
Bruno Guimaraes put in a captain's performance last night and deserved his goal with the Brazilian taking to Instagram after the game to share that he was hoping to get on the scoresheet last night.
"Thank you, my God, for everything you do in my life… Thank you so much for allowing me to do what I love the most. I’m very happy to have scored a goal on my son’s birthday, something I really wanted. Pietro, you will always be the love of my life. An important victory to keep fighting for our goals.
Thank you to all our fans for your support tonight! A very important week ahead. Happy to start off on the right foot.3️⃣9️⃣🖤🤍"
It's fantastic that Bruno managed to score on his Pietro's birthday and was able to dedicate the goal to his second son, but for Newcastle fans the big gift, after the three points, was that the players all came away unscathed.
As long as everything goes well in training this week, Eddie Howe shouldn't have any new problems to contend with ahead of Sunday.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have to play PSG again in the Champions League, which we hope will be a high-tempo game that drains the energy of all the Liverpool players, so they're sleepwalking on Sunday. Please?
