Bruno Guimaraes leads the rest of the Premier League in this one key stat

Newcastle United may not be having the season we'd all hoped for but some of our players are performing exceptionally well.

It's just been revealed that Anthony Gordon is tied with Florian Wirtz for the most goal-creating chances in Europe's top five leagues, and now, not to be left out it seems Bruno Guimaraes has found himself atop of a chart of his own.

Bruno, like Gordon, hasn't missed a Premier League game through injury this season, just suspension, and has been vital in keeping Newcastle ticking over while the squad around him literally falls apart.

Bruno's defensive work is often overlooked

Bruno just edges out West Ham's Mohammed Kudus by one, but it just goes to show that there's a lot more to Bruno's game than those amazing defence-splitting passes.

When we think of Bruno we often think of all of his attacking actions, but often forget that he's actually a force to be reckoned with in a defensive capacity too.

If we ever feel like he's had a "poor" game, which are few and far between, it's likely because he's been mopping up at the back rather than getting forward and playing our forwards in on goal.

It's easy to overlook this aspect of his game but with 234 duels won this season, it's clearly a huge part of what makes him so good.

It makes it all the more impressive how he's managed to avoid picking up another yellow card since Man City in January to avoid a two-game suspension.

We're still convinced he'll get at least one more card this season now, but at least he won't have to miss any games if he does.
