There's no other way to say it, Newcastle United dropped two points at St James' Park last night as Cristian Romero bagged a brace for Tottenham Hotspur to twice cancel out a Newcastle lead.

It wouldn't be such a problem coming away with a draw against Tottenham normally, but it was the manner in which it happened, combined with who it was who scored them.

The fact that all Newcastle had to do was keep dominating the way they had been for another ten minutes or so, but instead they once again scored and sat back admiring their work.

Eddie Howe brought on Fabian Schar for Lewis Miley, which just told Spurs that we were going to sit in and defend the lead, which invited them onto us. They got a corner in the 95th minute and scored from it.

Bruno Guimaraes has a flair for the dramatic

Speaking after the game, a clearly furious Bruno Guimaraes got a touch dramatic when describing the mood in the dressing room, but you could see he meant every word.

"We missed another win, conceding at the end of the game. Again, for me, is everything about mentality. You have to defend in our box is a corner.

"You have to defend like your lives depend on it, including myself. You cannot score a bicycle so free. The ball was bouncing in our box, and no one took it away, so I'm very unhappy tonight.

"The feeling in the changing room is like we lost someone in our family. Everyone is unhappy. Like I said, it's about mentality. We have to defend better."

Bruno clearly wanted to be anywhere else but doing the interview last night

Bruno went on to say that he and the team will have today (Wednesday) to be angry about the dropped points, then they have to switch mentality and focus on getting maximum points against Burnley on Saturday.

Nobody feels these moments more than Bruno. We've seen our captain be upset and angry before, but he usually keeps it out on the pitch. He may be a bit down in interviews after the game, but it was like a different level last night.

I can't recall ever seeing Bruno let out such an enormous sigh before answering a question like he did last night. Someone felt his wrath in that changing room last night for sure.
