Newcastle United are set to receive an injury boost ahead of Brighton and Hove Albion's visit to St James' Park next week with Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson set to return.

Eddie Howe has had to play the last couple of Premier League matches without a recognised striker on the pitch, although he did give new signing Will Osula a run out against AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup, and for a lot of people, he did quite well.

Clearly not well enough for Eddie Howe who decided to return to having winger Anthony Gordon up front against his old club, Everton in the next match.

Hopefully, that's not a decision he'll have to make on Saturday when Brighton come to town with both Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson expected to be available for selection.

Georginio Rutter could be missing for Newcastle clash

Meanwhile it's not so positive for Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler who is potentially set to be without in-form striker Georginio Rutter according to The Northern Echo.

The 22-year-old pulled out of international duty with France U21s after picking up an injury in training and it's now a race against time for him to be fit for the trip to the North East.

Rutter has bagged two goals in his six Premier League appearances for the Seagulls since he became Brighton's record signing in the summer, joining from Leeds United for £40 million and appears to be improving with each game.

Brighton aren't exactly lacking goalscorers

Brighton still have Joao Pedro missing through injury which leaves them with Danny Welbeck and Evan Ferguson as potential forward options - not a bad back up to have, really.

One big thing to keep an eye on in Saturday's match will be how Yankuba Minteh looks as he makes his first appearance at St James' Park after he was sold in the summer without ever making his debut.

Less than a week to go until the Premier League returns. Hang in there!
