Former Leeds United winger Raphinha has been linked with a move to Newcastle United many times over the past couple of years with a move to the Magpies mooted before he made his dream move to Barcelona.

It took a long time for the Brazil international to find his feet at Barcelona which often brought up suggestions of a move back to the Premier League with Newcastle the team often mentioned in said stories.

However, this season Raphinha is in the form of his life and Barca boss Hansi Flick has now slapped a 'not for sale' sign on the long-term Toon target.

With Barcelona still struggling financially, however, they still need to move players on and Raphinha's good news is bad news for former Manchester City man Ferran Torres.

Reports persist that Torres could be available at a cut-price rate

Newcastle have also been linked to Ferran Torres several times often in stories which have suggested a really low transfer fee of around €15 million (£12.5 million).

That figure is still being suggested today (albeit by Fichajes) with reports that Aston Villa are to offer Barcelona £12.5 million for Ferran Torres while Newcastle and Arsenal are also weighing up a move for the winger who once bagged a hat trick at St James' Park.

It's being reported, however, that Barca are set to demand at least €25 million (£21 million) for his services, which considering he moved to Barca for £47 million from Man City is still quite a bargain.

Newcastle will only move for Torres if he indicates he wants to move

The Boot Room are also reporting interest in Ferran Torres from the aforementioned Premier League trio but their report stops short of suggesting a fee, however they do say that any bids will be considered.

They also add that they will not waste their time in pursuing the Spaniard unless they are given some form of indication that the player himself would be open to the move.

If Newcastle were able to snap up Ferran Torres for under £25 million to solve their right-wing issue that would actually be a major coup for the club, but competition will be high if the 24-year-old decides the time is right to move.
