Anthony Gordon bagged another goal for Newcastle United in the 4-0 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur at St James' Park today.

Gordon scored his 10th Premier League goal of the season to go along with his 8 assists in what has been a stunning debut full season for the former Everton man. Especially when you consider the rough start he made to life on Tyneside following his £45million January move last year.

In the summer Gordon admitted that he found it hard to adjust to the intensity that Eddie Howe demands and that he was going to use the summer to get up to speed, and true to his word he did just that.

Gordon helped England U21s to the European Championship trophy and picked up the Player of the Tournament for his efforts too.

Gordon was rewarded with his first senior England cap last month

He then cut short his holiday to return to training early to make sure he was ready for the season, and it has absolutely paid off.

Last month he was rewarded with a call-up to the England squad where he gave an excellent account of himself, putting himself into Gareth Southgate's thoughts for Euro 2024.

With his goal against Tottenham today, Gordon has written himself into the history books.

Anthony Gordon and Jamie Vardy are the only two players to have done this

Gordon bagged the second goal just 95 seconds after Alexander Isak got things going and as a result became only the second player ever to score against each of the Premier League "big six" in one season, the other being Jamie Vardy.

Such a stat really is a testament to just how good of a season Gordon has had, and we honestly can't see beyond him for our Player of the Season.

In a season where we have a striker who is still in the hunt for the Golden Boot, that's definitely not something to be sniffed at.
