Anthony Gordon has provided a shock name as his dream signing at Newcastle United as we enter the final weeks of the transfer window.

The Magpies have struggled to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules and were forced to sell young stars Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh last month.

Newcastle have been working hard behind the scenes on transfer activity, but so far have only signed one senior outfield player Lloyd Kelly whilst making Lewis Hall's deal permanent.

With the Premier League season under three weeks away, the pressure is on for Newcastle boss Eddie Howe and sporting director Paul Mitchell to bring in more firepower.

Anthony Gordon wants Manchester City star at Newcastle

As well as Kelly, Newcastle have signed Odysseas Vlachodimos from Nottingham Forest and former Birmingham keeper John Ruddy as well as 19-year-old defender Miodrag Pivas.

Anthony Gordon was one of the stars of last season with over 20 goal involvements, now he wants to see Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne join the Magpies.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Citizens this summer but Newcastle would surely have to break the bank with a lot of interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

Speaking to FUBO on who he would bring into Newcastle, Gordon said: “I would have to go Kevin De Bruyne.

"I think I’d get more one on one chances due to his special ability to play passes.”

An outlandish choice by Gordon?

There wouldn't be much chance of De Bruyne joining Newcastle at any point in his career let alone this transfer window.

De Bruyne joined Man City in 2015 for a then-club record fee of £55milllion, since then he has made 382 appearances scoring 102 goals and bagging 170 assists.

He has helped the club win numerous Premier Leagues, FA Cups, League Cups a Champions League and a Club World Cup.

Gordon is right to want him, he'll go down as one of the best midfielders in the history of the sport.
