Newcastle United's retro-inspired third kit went on sale at 9 am today, with images of the club's current stars adorning the online club shop.

The blue and orange third kit was inspired by the 1997/98 Adidas away kit with its navy base and orange and green accents. The original shirt had an off-centre orange and green stripe, but Adidas opted not to bring that back for this redesign.

Meanwhile, the accompanying goalkeeper kit has also been revealed, and it is a striking all-yellow kit with black badging, and as long as you don't mind standing out wherever you go, it's a stunner.

Anthony Gordon posted the image of himself modelling the new shirt to his own Instagram with a caption that heavily implies that his future is on Tyneside.

If Anthony Gordon is happy at Newcastle, can someone tell his face?

Anthony Gordon hints that he will still be a Newcastle United player next season

The 24-year-old is heading into his third season at Newcastle following his £45 million move from Everton in January 2023, and while there is plenty of speculation surrounding his future, the England winger has posted four words on his social media that should pour cold water on those stories.

"3rd kit. 3rd season"

Newcastle are determined to keep all of their big stars at the club this summer, and Anthony Gordon is certainly one of those.

Cheer up, Gordon

Gordon came in for a fair bit of criticism from fans last season as his performances failed to live up to the heights of the previous campaign.

For many, though, it wasn't so much about the performances as it was his perceived attitude. Many fans criticised his body language in games and accused him of not caring and not trying.

While we aren't convinced that was the case, his face in the promotional images for the new kit doesn't do him any favours.
