Newcastle United could boast three players in an England starting XI for the first time since 1997 on Sunday as the Three Lions demolished the Republic of Ireland at Wembley.
Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon all started the game for England which took a while to get going.
Indeed, Lewis Hall, for me, was about the only stand-out player in a very dull first half.
However, after the break, a penalty for England which resulted in a red card for Ireland opened the floodgates and England went on to win 5-0, securing promotion back to Nations League A.
Anthony Gordon bagged his first England goal in that game, volleying home a Tino Livramento cross. However, it was a cross that took a couple of deflections to get there.
Upon their return to Newcastle's training ground, the England trio were questioned by NUFC media for X on their time away, and Gordon was asked if he's crediting Tino with the assist for his goal, with the winger jokingly saying that the cross was awful.
“No, no way.
"He done a good run but it was an awful cross. I finished it off. Awful.”
While Gordon may have been joking, it seems that even Tino himself isn't taking credit for the assist when he was asked the same question.
“No, I was just happy Ant managed to score.
“Even just to be involved, it’s just an amazing thing.”
We credited Tino with the assist, and we'll die on that hill for our right-back!
