Anthony Elanga to start again: Our predicted Starting XI for Newcastle United to face Brighton
Premier League football is back, and Newcastle United head to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday for a 3 pm kick-off.
The international break came at the worst possible time for Eddie Howe as his side was just starting to pick up momentum.
Brighton were just starting to get a grip, too, which suggests that this is going to be another close game, as it often is between these two sides.
Given the momentum that Newcastle had before the break, we're not expecting any changes from Eddie Howe tomorrow.
Goalkeeper
Nick Pope - Big Nick Pope is the clean sheet king this season, so no reason to contemplate dropping him.
Defenders
Kieran Trippier - With seven games in 22 days coming up, there will be times when Trippier will have to rest, but it won't be tomorrow.
Malick Thiaw - Getting better with every game.
Sven Botman - Same as Thiaw. The pair are growing together.
Dan Burn - We're still not fans of him on the left as his lack of pace is easy to expose, but defensively, he's solid enough to make up for it, and will fill the gap for now.
Midfielders
Bruno Guimaraes (c) - Newcastle struggle without Bruno in the side. He may be knackered after travelling to Asia and back, but he still starts.
Sandro Tonali - A slight doubt over the Italian who played with a knock for Italy in midweek. Eddie Howe says he returns today, and they will assess before making a call.
Joelinton - Had a travel nightmare getting to Asia, didn't play particularly well in his cameo against Japan, and there's talk of a groin issue. But he's resilient, and we think he'll start.
Forwards
Anthony Elanga - Underused for struggling Sweden and didn't play well when selected, but he is starting to show positive signs for Newcastle.
Nick Woltemade - Off the mark for Germany now, and that can only translate into positivity for the Toon.
Anthony Gordon - Also bagged a goal while on international duty, so he should be bringing plenty of confidence back to club football.
There are a few question marks in the squad based on fatigue and potential knocks, but we're sure that if Howe isn't forced into any changes, he won't make any.
