Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi were pushed out of the club they helped reshape in the summer after a backroom shuffle at Newcastle United, but there appears to be no animosity and Staveley has now said she will be in the stands at Wembley next Sunday.

There was clearly some tension behind the scenes at Newcastle in the summer and while Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghoddousi were casualties of that, the club has managed to regain composure and is now in another Carabao Cup final as well as still being in the race for Champions League football.

Eddie Howe appeared to bump heads with new acquisition Paul Mitchell in the summer, too, so it was a nervy time for the Newcastle United fanbase.

Mitchell and Howe now appear to be working well together, but Staveley and Ghodoussi are moving on to other things.

Amanda Staveley will be at Wembley a week on Sunday

However, while Amanda Staveley has been linked with buying into Tottenham Hotspur, her heart clearly still belongs to Newcastle as she told ITV News that she'll be watching on at Wembley.

"I’ll be there with Alexander and Mehrdad, all our family. We’re just so proud of everybody and we’re so excited for the fans to have this because it will be the most incredible day.

“I’ll be like a proud mum, so I’ll be very nervous. I don’t want to embarrass myself, (in 2023), I cried a lot. It’s the most remarkable privilege to be there with the fans. So I’m looking forward to celebrating as a fan.

“We're very excited, it was really emotional when we got to the cup final before it was a tough match, a really tough match. I’m really excited about the men being in the final.

"Whatever the result it will be an incredible achievement because getting to two finals in such a short period of time is just a testament to all the hard work the shareholders, PIF, the Rueben family have put into the club and the support of the fans, it couldn’t happen without the amazing Newcastle community.

"I’m really confident that we’ll get the win. I know Eddie and the whole team and city are focused on this match. It means the whole world to everybody. I don’t want to give any predictions because I don’t want to jinx anything but I know how much this trophy means to everybody."

Big Al and Wor Mandy's confidence is rubbing off

Wor Mandy still holds a big place in Geordie hearts for being the one that fought for the takeover and made it a reality so it's great that she will be there if Newcastle beat the odds to lift the trophy next week.

We love her confidence in Eddie Howe and the lads, and now between hers and Alan Shearer's confidence, we are starting to feel better about the final.

Although, ask us again on Monday night how we feel when we've seen how we fare against West Ham United.
