If you're a Newcastle United supporter there's next to zero per cent chance that you don't already absolutely love Bruno Guimaraes, but just in case, he's now done something that you're going to love.
At the start of last season, Eddie Howe handed the captain's armband to Bruno Guimaraes which raised quite a few eyebrows amongst the fanbase.
Not because we didn't love Bruno and everything he's done for the club since he arrived in January 2022, but because we had Kieran Trippier in the squad still and we assumed he'd continue as captain. However, Eddie Howe knew it was time for Tino Livramento to step up and play more games and that Trippier wouldn't be on the pitch as often.
There was still Dan Burn who is massively influential, but Howe opted for Guimaraes and, well, why do we ever doubt Eddie Howe?
Bruno Guimaraes went on to captain Newcastle United to their first domestic trophy in 70 years, their first major piece of silverware in 56 years.
Bringing silverware to Tyneside was his goal since he joined the club. Bruno had spoken many times about wanting to write his name in the history books and to bring trophies to the club, and he's done that.
If you ever doubted just what it means to the man, though, the Brazilian has now got a tattoo of the trophy on his wrist, but it's the detail that we love. The captain's armband around the base of the trophy and the subtle black and white stripes in the trophy's design. We adore it. We adore him.
Showing off his new ink to the world, Bruno posted a photo of it to his Instagram story with the following caption:
"16/032025 Always in my mind and now in my body 🖤🤍🏆"
Let's hope that's just the start of a sleeve with many more trophies to be added later, all with those black and white stripes running through them.
HOWAY BRUNO GUIMARAES' INKED UP MAGS!
