Alexander Isak is one of the six nominees in the frame for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award, which will be presented in Manchester on Tuesday night.

The Newcastle United striker's goal-scoring exploits last season landed him in contention to scoop the top honour as he goes up against Mo Salah, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, Bruno Fernandes (somehow) and Alexis Mac Allister.

As Isak has swerved his teammates all summer, the Swede now looks set to avoid the shindig in Manchester on Tuesday night, according to the BBC.

We can understand Isak's reluctance to go, as he will obviously just be bombarded with questions, but in another move that really makes us question his character, he hasn't informed the PFA of his decision not to attend.

Alexander Isak up for the top gong at tomorrow's awards ceremony

Alexander Isak hasn't contacted the PFA with just 24 hours until the ceremony

As the BBC have reported, Isak hasn't reached out to the PFA to confirm his attendance, but sources have said he plans to stay away from the event.

"Just over 24 hours before the awards, BBC Sport has learned Isak is yet to confirm his attendance at the function, which will be held at the Manchester Opera House, casting doubt over whether he plans to appear."

They go on to say that even on such short notice, the PFA would still welcome his attendance.

Alexander Isak has fully turned to the dark side

What's going on where someone who has been described by so many as a really nice guy, and so polite, can't even confirm his attendance for an event at which he stands a chance of being honoured by his peers?

With each day that passes, our respect for Isak decreases more and more.

We didn't think it would be possible, but he's approaching Michael Owen levels of loathsome.
