Since Newcastle United began their journey to break into that precious "Big Six" they've had to contend with the media constantly suggesting that the big players will leave for a so-called bigger club.
Ever since Bruno Guimaraes showed his quality at Newcastle it has been suggested that he will leave at the first sign of interest from elsewhere.
Eventually, he's managed to prove that he is committed to Newcastle but that has just made the media turn their attention towards star striker Alexander Isak who, if the London-based media are to be believed, has a divine right to play for arsenal. Or rather, Arsenal have a divine right to sign him from Newcastle.
Even after Newcastle's win over the Gunners, in which Isak scored, Southern pundits were talking as if he belongs to Arsenal and Newcastle should just let him go there. It's sickening.
Alexander Isak is currently away on international duty with Sweden and Fotbol Skanalen have asked him what he thinks of all the speculation around his future.
“Throughout my career, I have never talked about or really commented on the move rumours during the season. There have been many such years where it has been talked about. It doesn’t affect me.
“I am commenting on my situation in Newcastle, and I have never had any problem there. I am fully focused on my task there and that we will have a fantastic season. There are still great opportunities for that. I have no thoughts about anything else.
“The only thing I can say is that a lot of information and rumours often come out. Much of what I read is not true. So that’s about all I can say about the whole thing.”
It's great to actually hear from the man himself that he's not buying into any of the talk, and that last sentence is directly aimed towards the recent suggestions that his agents are the ones making noises, which is also a big thing.
We never really bought into the stories of Isak being happy and always felt that any such suggestions were coming purely from his agents in a bid to try and milk more money from the club.
Now Isak has even rubbished those claims, it's time for everyone to just get on with their jobs and stop rocking the boat. Isak is retuning to the form that had pundits purring, so let's not upset him and make him lose focus, eh, agents?
