Newcastle United's star striker Alexander Isak can boast an impressive return of four goals in three games for club and country after netting for Sweden against Estonia on Sunday.

Sweden were 3-0 winners in the Nations League on Sunday with the Scandinavian scorers switching roles as Alexander Isak bagged one while Viktor Gyokeres helped himself to two goals. A reverse of the scoring in the 3-1 win over Azerbaijan.

Gyokeres and Isak inflicted their damage in the first half with Gyokeres opening the scoring on 30 minutes, Isak doubling the lead ten minutes later and Goykeres rounding off the scoring just four minutes later.

That's now four goals in his last three games for Isak who suffered from a slow start to the campaign, mostly due to Newcastle's inability to get into the final third of the pitch.

Isak will be massive in Newcastle's season

Isak's goal came as part of a scramble inside the box with Estonia's defenders throwing themselves in front of every ball, but when the ball fell to Isak the cool Swede bided his time and flicked the ball into the roof of the net.

It looks like the Isak we know and love is back to his best and with a bit of luck he'll carry his international form back to Newcastle to terrorise Wolves on Sunday.

Newcastle need a big, convincing win it feels like. There is still a bit of negativity floating around after the summer and the team's performances have done little to lift that cloud so far.

Alexander Isak will return to Newcastle after a successful international break

If Newcastle can put on a convincing display then all of this negative talk about the summer and rifts behind the scenes can start to make way for talk about actual football, which is what we're all here for at the end of the day.

Isak will be a huge part of Newcastle's season and if he can display cool finishing like he showed last night, it's going to be fun to watch.

Alexander Isak will now return to Newcastle to start preparing for Sunday's game at Molineux while our England trio will return on Wednesday after facing Finland on Tuesday night.
