Alexander Isak makes another drastic move to force move away from Newcastle United - this is getting silly now
Alexander Isak's determination to leave Newcastle United has to be admired in a way. If only he'd have put this much effort into the final 10 games of last season, we might have pipped Arsenal to second place in the league after all.
Newcastle are facing the very real possibility that they will lose their star striker this summer as the Swede does everything in his power to force a move away from the club, with his only destination likely to be the Premier League champions.
Liverpool is the only club to have shown a concrete interest, and despite reports suggesting that they will not return with a second bid after their initial approach was rebuffed, Isak himself doesn't seem undeterred.
This morning, it was reported that Isak has informed Newcastle he will not play for them again, and now The Times are reporting that Isak has sold his Newcastle home.
Isak put his house on the market after being excluded from the club's family day last week
Isak has literally made himself homeless to force a move to Liverpool. You've got to admire the commitment on some level.
The report states that Isak's home went back on the rental market the day after he was excluded from the friends and family day at the training ground.
Seemingly, that was the last straw for the want-away striker, but really, what did he expect? He's unsettling the squad; they're hardly going to want to hang out with him and be merry.
There's no way back for Isak now
We've been saying for a while that there doesn't seem to be a way back for Isak at Newcastle now, and this just rubber stamps that. If he's taking these steps before he's even secured a move away, his intentions are clear.
If Newcastle fail to get a replacement in during this window and Isak is forced to stay, it's going to be such a mess. He'll not be able to step out onto the pitch at St James' Park again.
Well done, Alex, you've destroyed your legacy.
