Newcastle United have a few players who will be anxiously waiting to find out how Thomas Tuchel's first England squad shapes up.

The German coach officially took over the role on New Year's Day and has had a couple of months to have a good look at his potential crop of players.

Tuchel is set to name his first squad in the next couple of weeks ahead of the international break in March, and Newcastle United have a few players that will be hoping for a call.

Anthony Gordon recently revealed that he has spoken to Tuchel, so he's probably confident of a call-up, but we're not sure who else received those courtesy calls in the Newcastle camp.

Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento will be anxiously waiting by their phone

Nick Pope is likely to miss out due to missing so many games recently, and he looked less than convincing on his Premier League return yesterday.

Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall were recent inclusions in the England set-up thanks to Lee Carsley who had worked with them at U21 level. However, Tuchel is no stranger to either player given his stint at Chelsea.

However, that familiarity is no guarantee of a place in his squad, but after Sunday's performance, it's going to be hard for Tuchel to overlook Hall, especially given England's lack of options at left-back.

Alan Shearer backs Lewis Hall to make the cut for Thomas Tuchel's first England Squad

Alan Shearer has said on The Rest Is Football podcast that he expects Hall to be named when Tuchel announces his first squad.

“I thought Lewis Hall was very, very good as well at left-back. I really like him and he's very impressive, both defensively and going forward. I hope Thomas Tuchel has had a good look at him and with an England squad not too far away, do not be surprised if he's in it because he's showed some really good form today. I thought he was excellent.”

As for Tino Livramento, it's a coin toss at the moment. He's got the talent but hasn't had the consistency this season to nail down that place. Fingers crossed he makes the cut.
