Newcastle United host Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday in a 12pm kick-off live on TNT Sports.

Both sides are on the same points and same goal difference going into the tie which will have a major effect on the Champions League race.

Chelsea fired off a timely warning shot by beating, an albeit changed, Liverpool side on Sunday 3-1 after Newcastle dropped points against Brighton.

Cole Palmer returned to form after a quiet season, by his standards, and scored a penalty in second half stoppage time to put a fine point on an excellent display.

Alan Shearer included the England star in his Premier League Team of the Week, citing that he looks back to his best in his write-up.

“Looked back to his very best. Kept his cool to score from the spot and wrap up a memorable win.”

Palmer even suggested that he felt back to his best after the game on Sunday when speaking to Sky Sports.

Indeed, Palmer's words could be interpreted as a warning shot to Newcastle and Nottingham Forest who are both in the fight for the Champions League and have to face Chelsea.

"To score today, I'm happy, but I've got to keep improving and try to reach new levels.

"If you're getting chances and not scoring... you're letting your team down at the end of the day. I feel like I'm mentally strong anyway so whatever people say, it doesn't bother me. I've had it all the time growing up.

"I feel pride in helping the team and if I'm not doing that, I'm not happy. Today, I felt like myself. I felt confident, I was trying things, first time passes, playing forward, playing free."

Fingers crossed it was just a one-off good game. Sorry, Cole.
