Adidas returning to Newcastle United next season in "biggest commercial deal ever done"

The fourth episode of "We Are Newcastle United" has revealed that sportswear giant Adidas will replace Castore as the club's kit maker from next season in the "biggest commercial deal ever done" by the club.

The Amazon Prime documentary was inadvertently released this morning, as we revealed a couple of hours ago, and the middle of the fourth episode is all about the new deal done with Adidas.

The episode shows Amanda Staveley, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, Abdulmajid Ahmed Alhagbani, Darren Eales, and Peter Silverstone flying out to negotiate with the German company and close the deal.

The leadership group are shown historical Newcastle United home and away kits and all seem incredibly excited about the partnership, with Ghodoussi saying that it's like "two old lovers getting back together". Adidas themselves seem delighted to have the Magpies back in their fold, too.

From the footage, it looks like the 2024/25 kit will have "three bold black stripes" on the front of the home kit, and the away kit could either be inspired by the blue 1996/97 effort with the black and white stripes across the chest, or the beloved 1995/96 maroon and navy blue hoops.

What a time to be a Newcastle supporter this is. We're going to be better than we've ever been.
