Earlier this month, Newcastle United's Under-21 lead coach Adam Lawrence quit his role following a 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough.

Even though results hadn't been going Newcastle's way, the sudden departure of Lawrence seemed to come out of the blue.

Lawrence joined Newcastle from Manchester United just four months prior to his shock resignation as the Magpies continue to search for someone to fill that hot-potato role on a more permanent basis.

After his immediate departure, Lawrence posted a thank-you message on LinkedIn to Steve Harper and said that it was a difficult decision to leave.

Adam Lawrence didn't take long to find a new job, did he?

Adam Lawrence said he would be looking for a new challenge in his post on LinkedIn, but it hasn't taken him long to find one.

"I have made the decision to leave my role as U21 Player Development Lead at Newcastle United Academy.

"After being at the club for a short period of time this was a really difficult decision to make. However, there are times in life where you have to make tough choices and this is one of those moments. I would like to thank Steve Harper for the opportunity to work at such an amazing club, and wish the Academy and Club every success in the future. Newcastle is a truly special place. I look forward to exploring potential opportunities that are out there for me."

Life moves pretty fast

As per ManUtd.com , Lawrence has rejoined the Red Devils as their Under-21s lead coach.

Lawrence won the treble with the Under 18s before he left for Newcastle, and now he returns to the next level, working with many of the same players he guided to success previously.

This all happened rather quickly, didn't it? Why not just be honest and say you'd been offered a role at Man United and you wanted to go home? There's no way this wasn't already in the works.
