Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo has been at the top of Newcastle United's shopping list for a while now, and as the season draws to a close, attention will naturally start to shift towards the summer transfer window, and with that, reporters will be pushing managers for answers regarding transfer speculation around their players.

Eddie Howe has got dealing with such question down to a fine art and transfer question slide off him like he's coated in teflon as he rarely gives anything away unless he's sure there's going to be an imminent outcome.

Other managers like to have fun with reporters, while Brentford's Thomas Frank has simply taken the blunt approach when asked about Bryan Mbeumo.

Sky Sports asked Frank about Bryan Mbeumo's potential price tag, which has been reported to be around £50 million, with Frank simply answering with "A lot."

Thomas Frank knows that all of his players have their price

Newcastle are one of several clubs who admire Mbeumo, and thanks to his performances this season, "a lot" seems like a fair answer, but Frank did go on to explain in more detail.

"I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford. He's thriving, doing well and playing fantastic. What happens in the future? I don't know.

"I've said many times: we are a selling club. But, at the same time, we have to reinforce that there are maybe 10 clubs in the world who are not selling clubs.

"So, of course, if the right price is coming, and that's going to be expensive, then I'm pretty sure the club will be open for it, but I'm very happy he's here and I'm convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here."

Newcastle are likely to be prepared to part with £50 million for Bryan Mbeumo

We'd still say that £50 million is a lot, so that figure could still be relevant, and we do believe that Newcastle would gladly pay that for Mbeumo.

The problem is going to be fighting off other clubs. Depending on who else goes in for the Cameroon international, that could become tricky.

Champions League qualification will certainly help Newcastle's case, as will the fact that the club lifted silverware this season, but if title-winners Liverpool enter the race, that would be a very tempting move for the 25-year-old.
