We're always a fan of seeing one of our lads appearing on an arbitrary Top 10 list and Newcastle United have a player who has made it into the Top 10 strongest players in football.

As reported by Give Me Sport, the ten strongest players in the game right now have been ranked based on three criteria: Physicality, difficulty playing against and overall strength.

We've got no idea how this criteria is even measure, but we don't actually care because Newcastle are represented on the list.

You probably already know who it is. In fact, we probably didn't even need to hint with the £40m tease in the headline ... so the player won't come as a shock but his position on the list might.

Joelinton aka Tank McFist

We're not sure about the top two of the list

Liverpool's Virgil van Dyke tops the list followed by Erling Haaland and Adama Traore - who we thought would have been top of the list given that his teeth have muscles, but I suppose there's something in that random criteria that knocks a point or two off.

Joelinton (were you shocked?) is the Toon representative on the list coming in at number seven ahead of Bayern Munich's Joao Palinha, Napoli's Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting.

The write up for Joelinton mentions his move from poor striker to midfield beast and speaks about his aggression and determination.

Joelinton has been praised for his aggression

"The decision to move Joelinton from a striker to a central midfielder may be one of the greatest position changes in football history.

"From one of the worst strikers in the Premier League to one of the best and most dominant midfielders, Joelinton is a menace in the centre of the park. Whether it is with or without the ball, the Brazilian uses all of his 6'1 frame to out-muscle opponents, and either win possession back or drive forward towards goal.

"Not shy of a tackle, he sometimes oversteps the mark and makes a foul, but his determination and aggression in midfield is unmatched. Joelinton is a nightmare to play against for midfielders, as he is constantly closing down and leaving his foot in, as well as being incredibly strong in the air."

Do you even lift, bro?

We think someone should get this Top 10 together and get them on the leg press and the free weights to see who can lift the most to put this to bed.

We're sure Joelinton would climb up a couple of places after that.

Hopefully the beast will be unleashed tomorrow against Chelsea - although not too unleashed as J7 is still one booking away from a one-game suspension.
