Newcastle United and thousands of the Toon Army are over in Germany getting ready for tonight's Champions League fixture against Borussia Dortmund.

Photos and videos of Newcastle fans festooned across the streets of Dortmund have taken over social media today as the Toon Army hopes to push Newcastle to a win over Borussia Dortmund as revenge for the 1-0 defeat at home two weeks ago.

Eddie Howe's depleted side have a tough task ahead of them, but it has often been the case that when Newcastle's backs are against the wall we become the most dangerous.

A familiar face has turned up in Dortmund

One man who has turned up to show his support for the Mags is former Newcastle United player Matty Longstaff.

Spotted by journalist Jordan Cronin, Longstaff was pictured in Germany amongst the fans.

The younger brother of Sean Longstaff, Matty made 20 appearances in all competitions for Newcastle, the most famous of which was his Premier League debut when he scored a belter of a goal to snatch a 1-0 win against Manchester United.

Matty Longstaff is still without a club after being released by Newcastle

Unfortunately, things didn't work out for him at Newcastle and Matty was released by the club in the summer. He was allowed to train and use the facilities at Benton while he recovered from injury, which was a nice touch from the club.

Matty is currently without a club since being released by Newcastle, but hopefully, he'll not be out of the game for much longer.

Great to see him supporting his big brother for his boyhood club, though.
