The Newcastle United players who returned to training yesterday were today out on the pitches running drills with the ball at their feet as pre-season preparations get underway.
Yesterday, many Newcastle players returned to Darsley Park for pre-season assessments and were put through their paces by the coaching staff.
Today it was time for Eddie Howe to put them through it as he had them out on the pitches and Serena Taylor was on hand with her trusty camera to catch some images for the website.
Watching on from the side were Newcastle's two newest arrivals in Paul Mitchell and his former Monaco colleague and now performance director, James Bunce.
As well as the newbies, 22-year-old right back Harrison Ashby was pictured going toe-to-toe with Dan Burn out on the pitch.
Ashby featured quite heavily in pre-season for Newcastle last year and looked like he'd done enough to earn a spot in the first-team squad, however, Eddie Howe had other ideas.
The former West Ham man, who was chased by Newcastle for a good few months before his eventual £5million switch, was instead loaned out to Swansea City for the season.
There has been speculation over Ashby's future at Newcastle, but it seems nothing has been decided yet.
Hopefully, he will once again get his chance in pre-season and the worst-case scenario is another loan move.
Tino Livramento has come in and leapfrogged Ashby in the pecking order, but there are question marks now over the future of Kieran Trippier and if Tripps were to move on, Ashby could jump into the spot vacated by Livramento who will inevitably take over from Trippier.
