Newcastle United are preparing for Saturday's trip to Burnley to take on Vincent Kompany's Premier League strugglers in a 3pm kick-off.

The big question this week has been whether or not Joelinton would be fit enough to return to the squad, but if he's back in training then the club are doing all they can to keep it under wraps.

Conversely, however, there has been no attempt made to mask the fact that Miguel Almiron is back in full training with the Paraguayan featuring heavily in this week's training gallery.

Usually, if a player is close to a return but there's still some doubt, the club will not feature them in the training images to keep the opponent guessing, but it seems they've gone the other way this time.

Almiron looks certain to be in the squad on Saturday

Miggy has been missing since he was one of the three casualties Newcastle picked up in the win over West Ham at the end of March.

Eddie Howe has tinkered with the right side of his attack in Miggy's absence, playing Anthony Gordon in Miggy's place with Harvey Barnes on the left for a couple of games, then at the weekend, reverting to Gordon on the left and putting Jacob Murphy on the right.

We suspect that Miggy will start on the bench on Saturday with it being his first game back after a month out.

Joe White and Alex Murphy are prominently featured in the training gallery

Youngster Joe White continues to train with the first team and we expect to see him on the team sheet again on Saturday.

Alex Murphy can also be seen in the gallery after his cameo on Saturday which almost ended in disaster when the referee awarded a penalty after a stunning challenge, which he did overturn after checking with VAR.

We'll just have to wait and see what Eddie Howe says on Friday morning to find out if Joelinton is going to creep his way into Saturday's squad. Fingers crossed.
