Newcastle United are one of many clubs keeping an eye on the next big talent coming out of the USA.

Currently playing for Charlotte FC who tried to buy Miguel Almiron off Newcastle in the summer, Nimfasha Berchimas is now reportedly being sent to train with Manchester United next month.

The Boot Room names Newcastle as one of several clubs tracking Berchimas as the 16-year-old rises to prominence in the MLS. The likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are included in the list among others.

While Berchimas is set to train with Manchester United, there is nothing to suggest that he will be joining the Red Devils so Newcastle aren't out of the race just yet.

Nimfasha Berchimas is wanted by several top clubs in Europe

Nimfasha Berchimas trained at Bayern Munich in 2022 and is now set for a month at Old Trafford

Indeed, Berchimas trained with Bayern Munich in 2022 as he seems keen to soak up different footballing cultures before deciding where his future lies outside of the MLS.

The wide forward can play on either side of the centre forward and has bagged six goals from 26 outings this season, albeit just three of those outings have come in the MLS and he hasn't scored in any of those games.

He's not due to turn 17 until February and isn't eligible for a move to Europe until 2026 but Man United will be hoping that they can convince him that Old Trafford is where he needs to be when the time comes.

There is still plenty of time for Newcastle to make their case

Despite the club being an all-out mess right now, Man United still have a lot of pulling power, especially when it comes to foreign players who are perhaps too detached from English football to see how bad things are at Old Trafford these days.

Unfortunately, as things stand, Newcastle aren't exactly looking like an enticing prospect right now either.

Thankfully, there's still plenty of time before Nimfasha Berchimas has to make any big call on his future.
