Newcastle United may have put the final nail in Erik Ten Hag's coffin at Manchester United as the Man United fans booed their side off at full-time.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville was on commentary tonight and as an avid Manchester United fan, you could hear the pain in his voice as he watched his side fall apart against a spirited Newcastle side.

Newcastle were in no mood to be charitable tonight, making sure they took their chances when they came and condemning Manchester United to their eighth defeat of the season so far.

Gary Neville took a break from moaning about Man United to praise Joe Willock

The Magpies scored three fantastic goals, but the big story was Joe Willock making his first start of the season after being injured since the Brighton game in May.

Willock slotted the ball into the bottom corner from outside of the area prompting praise from Gary Neville.

Gary Neville said Willock's goal was 'wonderful'
"Wonderful from Willock! He had so much to do but it's a beautiful finish."

Goals are coming from all areas of the pitch for Newcastle

Eddie Howe put out a side without a recognised striker, opting to play winger Anthony Gordon up front, but the way Newcastle have been picking up goals from all over the park it wasn't really an issue.

Newcastle have goals in every area of the pitch with fullbacks and midfielders banging in goals as well as the strikers, and for Joe Willock to get straight back into the scoring groove on his first start shows just how dangerous Newcastle are.

Gary Neville's praise for Joe Willock came in a rare moment of him not pointing out how poor Manchester United are and commenting on the mood around Old Trafford and frankly, we don't know which was nicer to hear.
