The partnership between Newcastle United and Adidas is upon us with the German sportswear giant's logo already appearing on the official website.

As part of a huge refurbishment, the Gallowgate End club shop has now been closed down while it undergoes a huge refit, meanwhile, a temporary shop is in service outside the ground.

The new kit is set to launch on 7th June, so not long to wait after months of speculation about the design and several leaks appearing online.

Last night a short clip appeared on X via @alanzakhour showing what may well be the new shirt being taken out of its packaging with closeups of the details.

The 1976 club badge makes an appearance on the shirt

The video shows the shirt being taken out of an Adidas-branded bag and the paper inserts being removed.

We then get close-ups of the Adidas badge, the sponsor and the Newcastle United badge before we get a brief glimpse of the back of the neck which has the 1976-1983 club badge printed on it.

This matches up with leaks we've seen before, and given the close proximity to the release date, we think this might just be the real deal.

Adidas have gone with a patch for the club crest

The thick stripes look fantastic with the big Adidas three stripe logo in black on the thick white stripe making it stand out. The Sela logo has been reversed with a white outline around black text. The back will have a big white patch for the name and numbers resembling the Castore Champions League kit.

The club crest is a topic of discussion with Adidas seemingly going in favour of a patch over an embroidered effort, my personal opinion is that I love it, but I get that it can be divisive.

We don't have long to wait to find out whether this was a genuine shirt or a knock-off that someone has made up based off information floating around the internet. We can't wait.
