After the news about Alexander Isak having to withdraw from the Sweden squad, Newcastle finally have some positive injury news.

Eddie Howe has been forced into several changes to his Newcastle line-up in recent games as player from all over the park have picked up knocks in recent weeks.

Two noticable absentees, Sven Botman and Joelinton have left big holes in the defence and midfield respectively.

Now though, with the international break upon us, Newcastle have two weeks with no game and can focus on fitness and getting players back intro action.

Reporter Joel Bland this morning posted on X that Sven Botman and Joelinton are said to be on track to be fit for the visit of Crystal Palace on 21st.

The additional info at the end about the belief that Joe Willock could be fit too is absolutely superb.

Joe Willock has been missing since the back end of last season and many fans had been moaning that Newcastle were missing his drive in the midfield, particularly when results weren't going our way.

Having Willock back, especially in light of the long lay-off facing new boy Harvey Barnes cannot be underestimated.

Willock was an unsung hero last season, to the point where there were calls from fans for him to receive an international call up. Fans of other clubs didn't understand why, because they don't see what we see week in week out. He's the type of player that goes about his business and does it so well you just take it for granted.

Rival fans will cotton on eventually and so will Gareth Southgate if he ever pulls his head out of .... anyway.

Update - Joel Bland has since issued the following update on X:
