Newcastle United beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 to go sixth in the Premier League while Newcastle United Women batter Huddersfield 10-0 to win the FA Women's National League Premier Division North.

Both were huge achievements and big feathers in the cap of each side's season. We are absolutely buzzing for the lasses and for making it a 14-0 weekend for the Magpies.

Meanwhile, results in the Premier League have gone rather nicely for Newcastle. Bournemouth were robbed of a victory against Manchester United on Saturday but did manage to hold on for a draw which kept Newcastle above Erik ten Hag's side due to a vastly superior goal difference.

West Ham could have leapt above Newcastle and Man United with a win against Fulham today (Sunday).

Eddie Howe basking in the glow of another three points

West Ham couldn't do to Fulham what Newcastle did

Fortunately for us, Fulham were much better at finding the back of the net this week than they were against us last week and put two past West Ham without reply.

That's now opened up a nice two-point gap between us and them with the Hammers also having played a game more than us.

With Newcastle and Man United both on the same points, the penultimate game of the season when the two teams meet has the potential to be massive now.

Let's get carried away

There still remains a 10-point gap between Newcastle and fifth-placed Tottenham, also Aston Villa in fourth with Villa taking on Arsenal at the time of writing.

Given Newcastle's current run of form and the fact that Aston Villa and Spurs have lost all consistency, we couldn't sneak a Champions League place, could we? Could we??

We'd also just like to point out that Liverpool got beat by Crystal Palace. We could say that this is Newcastle-related because Palace are our next opponents, but really, it's just funny.
