Newcastle United have several players lined up as potential transfer targets to hopefully solve the right-wing problem at the club in January.

For the past few transfer windows the club has failed to address the issue that has been staring fans in the face since the takeover was announced - if Newcastle want to compete at the top then they're going to need better options down the right than Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy.

Alas, over three years into the PIF-led project and Eddie Howe is still switching between Miggy and Murph and it seems with each passing game both are becoming more and more ineffective.

It's therefore imperative that Newcastle at least try to bring in a new winger in January and by all accounts, that's what they're going to try to do.

Bournemouth are confident of keeping hold of Antoine Semenyo

One player Newcastle reportedly have their eye on is Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo who has had a fantastic start to this season having found the net three times for Bournemouth already.

His form as drawn interest from several clubs with Newcastle barging their way to the front of the queue, however, they might find themselves facing some closed shutters when they get there.

According to TalkSPORT, Bournemouth are feeling relaxed about the situation and believe they can hang on to Semenyo in January.

Semenyo signed a five year contract with Bournemouth in the summer

Semenyo is under contract at the Cherries for another five years having just recently signed a new deal, so the club can slap a hefty transfer fee to ward off suitors.

Fortunately, Newcastle have a few other options in mind that we know about and are likely to have a fair few hidden up their sleeve too.

Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford is another option with Premier League experience that Newcastle are looking at, however they could be faced with a similar issue of a high price tag as that's the price you pay for proven Premier League talent, especially when they're still at Premier League clubs and you're Newcastle United. The Newcastle tax is real.
